Second Officer – MV Armara Jules Verne Salary: €3,100 per month (as of 01.09)
Vessel: General cargo, built 2001, Latvia flag (IMO 9195717) Key Requirement
  • Candidate must have prior experience as Second Officer (2/O) specifically on MV Armara Jules Verne.
  • Must have Dutch or EU operational experience on this same vessel (under EU/Dutch flag or while operating in EU waters).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid STCW Certificate of Competency for Second Officer (Deck).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as 2/O on similar type of vessel (preferably the same vessel).
  • Strong knowledge of EU navigation and port procedures.
  • Proficient in ECDIS, ARPA/Radar, and cargo operations.
  • Good command of English (additional Dutch or local language is a plus).
Job Description Position: Second Officer (2/O)
Vessel: MV Armara Jules Verne – General Cargo, Latvia flag, IMO 9195717 Responsibilities:
  • Conduct safe navigation duties during watch (day and night).
  • Assist Chief Officer with cargo planning, handling, and stowage operations.
  • Monitor and maintain navigational equipment (radar, ECDIS, ARPA).
  • Maintain voyage documentation, logbooks, and weather reports.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and EU safety/environmental standards.
  • Support safety drills and emergency procedures onboard.
Required Experience:
  • Proven experience as Second Officer on MV Armara Jules Verne.
  • Prior exposure to Dutch or EU port operations and compliance procedures.
  • Familiar with international maritime regulations and EU-specific requirements.

  • Contract: Minimum 9 months (or voyage-based).
  • Salary: €3,100 /month.
  • Repatriation ticket and insurance included.
  • Onboard training opportunities if required.
