In compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The following rules constitute an agreement between the Website administration (“Website Administration”, “we”, “us”) and users of the website (https://crewell.net) (the “Website”), who use information and any services offered through the Website in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
By accessing or using any part or service of the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”).
The main language of the Website content is English (international maritime language). These rules are written in English. In case of any discrepancies between the English version and translations into other languages, the English version shall prevail.
These Terms shall be governed by applicable law, without reference to conflict of law principles.
If you do not agree with, or do not understand, any clause of these Terms, or if at any point during your use of the Website you find that you no longer agree with these Terms, you must stop using the Website and delete your data via your account settings or ask the Website Administration to do it for you.
The Website Administration is not responsible for incorrect understanding of these Terms by users, as well as for any incorrect translation from English to any other language by users.
By submitting any public content to the Website for inclusion on the Website (“Content”), you grant the Website Administration a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish the Content for the purpose of operating, displaying, distributing and promoting such content solely in connection with the operation and promotion of the Website and its digital services.
If you leave information anywhere on the Website, post material to the Website, post links on the Website, or otherwise make (or allow any third party to make) material available by means of the Website, you are entirely responsible for the content of, and any harm resulting from, that Content. By making Content available, you represent and warrant that the downloading, copying and use of the Content will not infringe any proprietary rights, including but not limited to copyright, patent, trademark or trade secret rights, of any third party.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your user account and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the account and any other actions taken in connection with the account.
You must immediately notify the Website Administration of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breaches of security. The Website Administration will not be liable for any acts or omissions by you, including any damages of any kind incurred as a result of such acts or omissions.
Company accounts are subject to verification before access to certain Website services and features may be granted.
Because the recruitment and employment of seafarers are regulated by law, Crewell verifies company accounts using information independently available on official company websites, in government registers, and from other public sources. Documents submitted directly by users are not accepted for verification.
Verification is intended to determine whether sufficient public information is available about the company’s registration, any required licences, and its actual activities, and whether seafarers can independently identify and review the company before sharing their CVs or other personal data.
Crewell considers all information available at the time of review and makes the verification decision at its sole discretion in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Verification is not automatic and is not guaranteed. Meeting the stated criteria does not create a right to verification.
When making its decision, Crewell may also consider the nature and business model of the company, whether its activities are consistent with the purpose and rules of the Website, and any other circumstances relevant to the operation, integrity, security, or legitimate interests of the Website and its users.
The Website operates on a free basis. Certain optional premium features may be available for an additional fee at the user's discretion. Pricing depends on the selected features, account type, and region.
Example pricing for premium access starts from approximately 30 USD per month. Exact prices are displayed to users inside their accounts before any payment is made.
The Website does not handle card payments for these products directly. Payments may be referred to and processed by secure third-party payment processors, which handle all technical aspects of the payment process (including, but not limited to, authorization, settlement, fraud checks, and payment security).
Payment Methods
Payments may be made using bank cards (Visa, MasterCard) and other payment methods supported by the selected authorized payment processor, depending on the user’s region and availability.
For certain regions, services and payment methods, payments may be processed by an authorized Merchant of Record (payment partner), acting as the seller of record to the customer. In such cases, the payment partner is solely responsible for payment processing, billing, invoicing, tax collection (including VAT / sales tax), refunds and chargebacks, in accordance with its own terms and applicable law. The Website only provides access to digital services after receiving confirmation of successful payment from such payment partner.
Once we have been notified by a payment processor or an authorized payment partner that a payment has been successfully made, access will be granted to the purchased online product or service as soon as reasonably possible. We do not guarantee any specific time of activation or immediacy.
If you believe that your payment was successful but the purchased service was not provided within a reasonable time, you should contact the Website Administration directly with the appropriate notice.
Digital Service Delivery
All paid services are provided in digital form only. Delivery of the service is performed by activating access to selected paid features within the user account after payment confirmation. No physical goods or offline services are delivered.
By purchasing any premium services on the Website, you acknowledge and agree that the Website provides access to subscription-based digital software tools and functionalities only, including CV visibility, automated applications, notifications and communication tools. The Website does not provide employment, recruitment, placement or agency services, does not act as an employer or intermediary, and does not guarantee any employment outcomes. All employment-related decisions are made solely by employers and users themselves.
If you register and use any services on Crewell.net, you may receive newsletters and notifications related to your account and use of the Website. These may include Crewell updates, new features, relevant vacancies, new CVs, and other useful information.
Depending on your account type, you can choose which newsletters and notifications you wish to receive, including vacancy notifications, notifications about new applicants’ CVs, and other alerts.
You can unsubscribe from newsletters or change your notification preferences at any time through your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in an email. Essential system notifications related to your account and its security are always sent and cannot be disabled.
By operating the Website, the Website Administration does not take responsibility for any or all of the contributed content, nor does it guarantee that such material is accurate, truthful, useful or non-harmful.
You are responsible for taking precautions as necessary to protect yourself from any kind of scam and to protect your computer systems from viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and other harmful or destructive content. The Website may contain user-generated content that is offensive, indecent, or otherwise objectionable, as well as content containing technical inaccuracies, typographical mistakes, and other errors.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website Administration disclaims responsibility for any harm resulting to users and visitors of the Website arising from such content.
You agree not to use any automated systems, software, bots, crawlers, spiders, scrapers, data mining tools, browser extensions, scripts, or similar mechanisms to access, collect, copy, download, store, or otherwise extract any data or content from the Crewell Platform for any purpose.
You further agree not to copy, reproduce, distribute, display, transmit, publish, transfer, resell, aggregate, or make available any information, vacancies, user profiles, CVs, contact details, text content, design, layout, graphics, or other materials from the Platform on any external websites, platforms, databases, aggregators, or third-party services, whether manually or through automated means.
Access to CVs and contact details is provided only for normal recruitment purposes within the Crewell Platform. Any use of Platform data outside the intended recruitment purpose is prohibited.
Unusually frequent requests, systematic viewing, mass opening of profiles, account sharing, attempts to bypass platform limits, or any usage pattern that, in Crewell’s reasonable opinion, indicates misuse or unauthorized data extraction may result in limitation, suspension, or termination of access to CVs, Premium features, or the company account.
Any unauthorized use of the Platform or its content, including systematic extraction, copying, redistribution, resale, transfer, or use outside the permitted recruitment purpose, constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your account, including Premium accounts, without refund, as well as other appropriate enforcement or legal measures.
All content on the Platform is protected by copyright and other applicable laws.
Modify the Website at any time at its sole discretion. The Website is provided “as is”.
Change fees, services, and service periods/expiry dates.
Decline users’ requests for registration on the Website, or delete users’ accounts in case of infringement of these Terms, as well as in other justified cases, including without explanation, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Edit or delete any content published on the Website if it does not comply with these Terms, is harmful to the Website or any third party, or at its sole discretion for any reason permitted by applicable law.
Amend these Terms and Conditions unilaterally. It is your responsibility to check these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Website after changes have been published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
The Website Administration acts as the Data Controller in relation to personal data processing carried out by or on behalf of the Website Administration through the Website.
The Website is constructed as a digital platform that enables users to create, manage and share information through internal digital tools and functionality.
The Website requests only the personal data necessary to operate the Website and provide the services selected by the user. The Website does not request personal data that is not necessary for these purposes.
Any additional volume of personal information is defined and controlled by the user at their own discretion through the Website’s functionality.
When the user creates or posts a CV, applies for a vacancy, sends a CV, or otherwise provides personal data through the Website, that data is processed and, where applicable, made available or transmitted in accordance with the user’s actions, selected privacy settings, and the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Personal data may be processed to provide the services requested by the user, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate interests, and, where required by applicable law, on the basis of the user’s consent.
The processing of personal data includes any act and/or set of actions associated with the collection, recording, accumulation, storage, adaptation, alteration, updating, use and distribution (disclosure, transfer), and deletion of personal information in order to provide the services of the Website.
The personal information processed by the Website is limited to the information voluntarily submitted by the user through the Website’s functionality, including data contained in a profile or CV, and any information necessary to operate the Website and provide the selected services. Such information is stored and processed by the Website Administration for the operation of the Website and may become available to other users only through the technical functionality of the Website and in accordance with the user’s actions and privacy settings.
The collection, storage and processing of personal data are carried out in order to provide personalized services to the user of the Website, including access to a private section, authorization, password reminder, publication and sending of resumes, targeting of content and system notifications within the platform, communication with users (including notifications, requests and information regarding use of the Website, services, processing of user requests), and other Website services in line with the main aim and mission described above.
Personal data may also be processed to comply with legal obligations and to protect the legitimate interests of the Website Administration, users, and third parties, where applicable.
The user may share personal data with employers and/or their agents or managers through the Website’s functionality in accordance with the user’s actions and selected privacy settings.
The list of such third parties (employers) is published and/or made available and regularly updated on the Website, or is accessible through the Website’s services. The user may also transmit their personal data to any other third party by their own choice through the technical means of the Website.
User’s personal data may additionally be transferred to authorized payment partners solely for the purpose of payment processing, fraud prevention, tax compliance, and handling refunds and chargebacks, where applicable.
The Website Administration is not responsible for further processing of personal data by third parties (employers and/or their agents and/or managers and/or payment partners) beyond the scope of the Website’s services, and does not take part in the employment process.
The user independently chooses whether their profile is Open or Hidden.
With an Open profile, the user allows registered employers to find and view their CV through the Website’s search and matching tools. With a Hidden profile, the CV is not available through employer search or automatic matching and is shared only with companies selected by the user, including when the user applies for a vacancy.
The user is responsible for choosing their profile visibility, deciding which vacancies to apply for and which companies to share their CV or other personal data with. Before applying or providing additional information or documents, the user should independently check the company.
Verification of a company by Crewell does not replace the user’s own checks and does not guarantee the identity, authority, conduct or reliability of any company or its representatives.
When an employer or its representative accesses, receives, views, or downloads a CV and processes the personal data for its own recruitment or employment purposes, that employer acts as an independent Data Controller in relation to such processing.
The employer is independently responsible for the lawful and secure processing, storage, use, disclosure and deletion of the personal data it receives.
The Website Administration does not determine or control how employers subsequently process personal data for their own purposes and, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, is not responsible for such processing. Any questions, requests or complaints concerning further processing by an employer should be addressed directly to that employer.
Personal data is retained while the user’s account remains active and for as long as necessary to provide the selected services, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.
The user may change, update or supplement their account, profile, CV and other personal data at any time using the tools available in their account.
The user may request deletion of their account through the account settings. To confirm the deletion request, an email will be sent to the email address linked to the account.
After the user confirms account deletion, the account will be permanently deleted together with the user’s CV, profile data and uploaded files. This action cannot be undone.
After deletion, the Website Administration may retain only limited technical records necessary for security, fraud prevention and system integrity. If payments were made through the account, relevant payment and transaction records may also be retained for the period required or permitted by applicable law.
If the user decides to register on Crewell again after deleting their account, a different email address must be used.
Cookies are small text files that a website places on the computers and mobile devices of people who visit the website.
These files are then read by the website each time you return to the site. These text files allow a website to remember your device and how you interacted with the website, which is useful for a number of purposes, such as: keeping you signed in; remembering your language settings; remembering your selected content for online comparison; providing higher operating speed; providing a higher standard of automated services; collecting certain statistics to improve the operation of the Website; and enabling sharing of Website links to social networks.

You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate cookie settings in your web browser. You can find detailed instructions on the websites of your web-browser providers, which may differ for each particular browser or version.
We use services provided by third parties, which may place their own cookies:

The Website is advertisement-free. We do not place any third-party advertisements and do not use any advertising cookies.
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may contact the Website Administration within 7 calendar days after service activation to request a refund. Refund requests are reviewed on an individual basis in accordance with applicable consumer protection regulations. If approved, the refund will be processed within 7 business days using the original payment method, where technically possible.
If a purchase was made through an authorized payment partner acting as Merchant of Record, all refund requests shall be processed by such payment partner in accordance with its own refund policy and applicable consumer protection regulations. In such cases, the Website Administration does not directly process refunds and is not responsible for the timing and method of the refund.
For payments processed directly by other third-party payment processors (non-Merchant-of-Record), refunds, where applicable, will be made using the same method as the original payment, to the extent technically and legally possible.
